Summary/Abstract: Polish transport sector has been characterized by stable development for years. However, the positive trend, is slowed down by various kinds of barriers: material and technical, economical, institutional and legal. Some of them can be fought with social capital which additionally can positively affect different areas of transport organizations. The purpose of this article is to identify barriers which could be reduced as a result of raising the level of social capital.
