Inland Waterway Transportation between Europe and Central Asia

Summary/Abstract: Inland waterway transportation, along with the other modes of transport, can have a major impact on the development of the country and the region. It is also one of the most economical and ecological modes of transport, and therefore more and more frequently we can observe the increase in its importance for international trade. The article is an analysis of the possibilities offered by inland transport waterways of Central Asia and Europe in the shipment of goods from the region of the Caspian Sea, Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea to the main ports of Western and Central Europe.
