Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the description and paradigmatic possibilities of the Russian professional activity verb group ending with -nichat’. The semantic and syntactic prohibitions on the formation of certain verb forms are revealed in the paper. Some tendencies in verb inflection and word-formation within this group are discovered using the material of the Russian National Corpus. The described class of professional activity verbs is analyzed in the Dictionary of Semantics and Grammar according to the following parameters: word-formation (accentuation type), morphology (paradigm), lexical semantics, syntax (set of valences), register conditions, and subject perspective. This approach to the language content processing cuts off the potential verb forms that are described in dictionaries and distort the real picture of the verb usage. The group of non-isosemic verbs ending with -nichat’ demonstrates the paradigmatic gaps, the polysemy absence, the limited functions of perfect/imperfect forms, as well as the presence of word-formative and semantic synonymy, and a large number of analytical constructions. The article contains a table with the paradigm of the verb malyarnichat, which demonstrates the current usage of the verb forms from the studied semantic group.
