Summary/Abstract: n the perception of the European society of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the marriages of the members of the royal families constitute events of general interest, generously described in contemporary publications. The stories of these episodes are sometimes accompanied by photographs and sketches. In this row we intend to expose the way in which they were presented to the readers, the marriages of Princess Marie, Victoria Melita, Alexandra and Beatrice de Saxa-Coburg-Gotha, whose wedding ceremonies followed one another for a rather long period, respectively 16 years. The sources chosen are the weekly "The Illustrated London News" and the daily "The New York Times". Only in the case of the marriage of Queen Mary of Romania did I include a Romanian equivalent, respectively the “Official Monitor”.
