Summary/Abstract: Research on the motives of internationalization has been conducted from the end of the 1960s. However, their analysis and the results are due to the subjective nature of the statements of the responding managers, who sometimes are not able to replace the real motives that led them to the internationalization of their businesses. Frequently literature takes three main typologies of motives. The first one (more common in theoretical terms) divides the factors into proactive and reactive in terms of endogenous and exogenous factors. The second typology (more common in the utilitarian approach), which was popularized by the OECD, lists four groups of motives: pull, push, entrepreneurial and chance factors. The aim of the article is to identify the real motives of internationalization of Polish enterprises of high technology (high tech). In addition to the classical analysis of studies of literature I used the questionnaire internationalized companies in the high-tech industries in Poland.
