Summary/Abstract: Observing the political discourse since at least 1989, one can see in governmental circles how political attitudes are still evolving under the influence of global events between radicalism and political correctness. It is worth considering whether this division will not replace the current political polarisation or complement the current political dichotomy along the lines of the dispute between conservatism and liberalism. Immigration, which is often treated as a phenomenon identical to the terrorist threat, makes this issue a particularly powerful weapon in political struggle. The influx of people has, and will certainly have, a major impact on the economy, finances, society, culture, security and even the identity of the host country. The more emotional and tragic the events take place, the greater the social potential for approval of political radicalism. Political correctness defends groups that may or may feel persecuted. This phenomenon is visible in the ongoing changes in attitudes towards minority groups, such as women, homosexuals, people with a different skin colour or religion. Radicalism and political correctness are constant elements of political discourse. The paper argues that political correctness and radicalism are interdependent, and environments that represent both conflicting attitudes paradoxically create a “political symbiosis” between them.
