Summary/Abstract: Companies, in their activities, often fail to protect labour rights. Despite the fact that many countries worldwide have ratified conventions of human rights, which are reflected in domestic law, it is not always observed at workplace. Companies sometimes agree on applying double standards – higher in their headquarters and lower in the host country; they turn a blind eye to human rights violations in return of financial benefits from using cheap labour, especially in Africa and Asia. Management in line with CSR principles pays attention to labour rights respect and building good relations with employees; it emphasizes the role of a company in promoting and respecting labour rights.
