The role of the presidents of big cities in the perspective of nationwide Policy

Summary/Abstract: Political processes implemented at the level of local government and the party’s local government policy show significant differences. Therefore, it is important to address the issue of the political role of self-government leaders. Leaders of cities are an example of such leaders. In turn, cities constitute a significant field of civilizational change noticed by B.R. Barbera. The analysis of electoral programs of several Polish presidents of cities elected in the local government elections of 2018 served to determine the conclusions regarding the roles of these leaders in the local and national perspective.
