Summary/Abstract: Quality of life is an interdisciplinary concept. The research of the quality of life appoint different interpretations of this concept, and also indicate various tools and methods of measurement the quality of life. In research of quality of life there are many issues brought up, for example about the working life. Contemporary ideas show that many elements are creating the quality of life. One of these elements is quality of work life (QWL). Quality of work life is a process of joint decision making, cooperation and building mutual respect between the management and employees. The main purpose of the article is to present the practices undertaken by companies acting in Poland, to guarantee a good quality of life in the workplace for the employees. In the article types of undertaken actions and recommendations for cooperation with employees were presented for companies applying practices for improving the quality of work life.
