Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to draw attention to changes in the Polish labour market. These changes are determined by many factors, including a governmental program which supports families which are raising children: “Family 500+”. The source base of the article is constituted by subject literature, reports and elaborations of governmental and non-governmental institutions and data from Statistic Poland. “Family 500+”, besides positive effects like pronounced reduction of poverty among children or increased birth number, can also trigger unintentional, negative effects visible on the labour market. They refer especially to increasing economic inactivity among beneficiary of the program. Mainly they are women leaving the labour market because of raising their children. In the author’s opinion, additional instruments are needed, which will make it easier for the parents to reconcile work with raising children and prevent them from leaving the labour market.
