Summary/Abstract: The ability to use knowledge resources, its gathering, processing and making use of in certain purpose is an extremely important element of every significant company. The knowledge management know-how lets an organization to achieve its goals and to create new ones and also to manage problems occurring on a different levels of activity. The trial of identification of the theory of knowledge management and its effectiveness in order to survive in the modern competitive market has been made in this article. The article refers to the nature of things which is the proper ability to process the gathered knowledge and using it for one`s own. The model of knowledge management has been recognized and has functioned for several years. Japan was the first country to recognize its significant and important role in companies functioning. It was also the country where the revolution in introducing new technologies has developed in the quickest and most effective way, in comparison to another countries of a big, economic potential. Not for a reason is the Japan being recognized as an area which in the field of technologies has overtook another countries. The ability of the knowledge management was of a great importance here.
