Summary/Abstract: The Polish social insurance system is one of the most complicated in Europe. It can thus be concluded that this is one of the reasons for the low level of knowledge aboutsocial insurance. Research “Knowledge and attitudes towards social insurance” shows that only 7% of Poles have knowledge of this subject and as many as 46% do not look for information concerning this issue, which causes concern [ISP 2016]. The article focuses on the presentation of the FUS financial results, the analysis of its revenues, costs and the reasons for the record-low FUS deficit at the end of 2017.
