Summary/Abstract: The underlying basis of talent management is the assumption that people constitutean enterprise’s major value and decisive factor of its competitive advantage. Therefore, the concept of talent management has already become a part and parcel of a business strategy shared by many leading companies. As demonstrated by studies conducted in Poland by active training and counselling centers (such as HRM Partners S.A. or House of Skills together with The Conference Board), talent management is going to pose one of the major challenges companies will face in a couple of incoming years. Thus, talent management isno longer an option but a necessity, so in this article the author makes and attempt to deep-dive into the current practice of talent management on the Polish market from the point of view of effective talent identification, development and retention, confronting current literary studies with the results of a self-conducted research. The aim of such an interpretation is to arrive at a better understanding of the concept, to reveal its dynamics and underlying aspects so as to offer recommendation about practical ways of talent management.
