Summary/Abstract: The presented in the article conclusions from empirical studies had been conducted in years: 2007 (method: the Focus Group Interview–FGI; n=75, studies of twelve focus groups), 2008 (method: the Paper & Pen Personal Interview PAPI; n=1002), and 2013–2014 (method: the Individual in–Depth Interview–IDI; n=100). Presented conclusions concern the studies conducted in projects coordinated and expertise by the author of the present coverage. The purpose of the conducted quantitative research was to identify factors which in the opinion of examined entrepreneurs, stimulate or hamper enterprise’s innovativeness. Among identified in years 2007–2008 factors, there have been found the following: phenomenon of competitiveness, permanent change in environment, socio-legal context, management of information in the company, financial assets and access to external financing, human capital of an enterprise with its psychological potential as well as the quality of cooperation with research & development units (B+R). Despite time flow in the year 2014, most of identified in 2007 – 2008 factors is still pointed out by entrepreneurs as hampering or stimulating factors of enterprises’ innovativeness.
