Summary/Abstract: Work, which is an important area of life for a human being, is also a source of stress resulting from, among other things, the way in which work is organised and working conditions, the location of an employee in it, interpersonal relations or organisational culture. The aim of the research article is to analyze selected problems of workers from West-Pomeranian region related to stress at work and the impact of this stress on the level of satisfaction of the individual with work and life in general. The analysis was based on the results of primary research carried out in 2017 on a representative sample of randomly selected economically active inhabitants of the West-Pomeranian region, as well as on the subject literature and research reports of scientific and research centres. The results of the research indicate that the majority of the surveyed persons struggle with stress at work to varying extent and to different degrees, which has negative consequences not only for the worker, but also for the organisation employing him/her. The most frequent reason for stress among the surveyed workers is the feeling of work overload and related problems in shaping the relationship between professional and personal life. Long-term and strong stress also has a negative impact on the level of job satisfaction and life in general.
