Summary/Abstract: The Short Life of Saint Kliment of Ohrid (Vita brevis Sancti Clementis Ochridensis) is one of the most important texts concerning the life and activity of that prominent Bulgarian saint, written in the beginning of the thirteenth century in SW Bulgaria, in the town of Ohrid. The purpose of this scientific article is to prove once more the importance of the Vita brevis as a source of historical data as well as to put once more on discussion the problem of the authorship of the literary monument. According to my knowledge of the text and the literary situation in Ohrid in the first decades of the thirteenth century, I suppose that the author of the Vita brevis of St Kliment is Demetrios Chomatianos (or Chomatenos according to Günter Prinzing), archbishop of Bulgarian Church in Ohrid in the second and third decade of the thirteenth century.
