Innovations as the Basis of Skills Gaps in the Area of Law on the Example of the Acts: on Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements and Acts on GDPR

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to prove the thesis according to which the implementation of innovations in tourism area entails the process of changes in the lawand is reflected on the labour market in creation of gaps of competencies in the area oflaw. It is a continuous process. There is a need to create mechanisms allowing liquidation or at least limitation of appearing competency gaps, which are results of innovations implementation. To achieve this objective: 1. The meaning of basic concepts used in this article, such as: innovations, competences, competency gap was explained. 2. The areas, in which legal acts have been changed due to the implementation of innovative solutions, have been selected. These changed acts related to: • protection of purchasers of tourist products,• protection of personal data. 3. Legal acts were identified and analysed in terms of the type and scope of introduced changes.4. The results of the analysis made it possible to define new groups of competences wanted on the tourist labour market.The basic sources of information were: legal regulations, literature, websites.
