Summary/Abstract: Culinary tourism in the world, and especially in Western Europe, has long since become one of the most popular forms of tourism. To determine the reasons for its success, it is necessary to identify the factors that must be present for this development to be possible. In order to carry out further considerations, one should accept the hypothesis that the culinary condition is necessary for the culinary tourism development in the regions and the tourists’ interest in them. For the development of this variety of cultural tourism,information about the potential of the region in this area as well as the offer including the possibility of reaching tourist attractions are also necessary. The development of culinary tourism associated with tradition, the attachments of people traveling to learn about regional cuisine, is a kind of a manifestation of culture. Based on the observation of countries where culinary tourism has reached a high level of advancement, it can be said that an important factor of its development is also the constant and continued for years cult of regional values, attachment to tradition and knowledge passing from generation to generation as well as skills in the field of culinary.
