Summary/Abstract: The work of operating room nurses is performed in one of the most important places in each hospital, where the life and health of a patient is decided. Material and methods: The study was conducted in 2014, among a group of 120 nurses in operating rooms in selected hospitals in Lublin, using a modified NIOSH questionnaire. Results: Among occupational risk factors among scrub nurses are transport activities associated with transferring and lifting, or bending and twisting at the waist. A significant risk is also related with the position assumed at work, and a high repeatability of movements. The identified risk factors also include insufficient working space, construction of the workplace, as well as an inappropriate temperature. Conclusions: The following risk factors occur during the work of an operating room nurse: forced, standing position, leaning or twisting of the body, lack of possibility to frequently change position, constant flexing of muscles of the lower extremities, and activities requiring the use of considerable strength, as well as high and low air temperature, and inappropriate construction of workplaces
