Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to analyze how a particular historical event like the collectivization of agriculture in Bulgaria from the end of the 1940s to the end of the 1950s has been reflected in the biographical interviews of the former co-operative farmers and their descendants. It attempts to answer the question how the narrators operate with the facts of their life, how they interpret these facts and how they construct past events at the present moment via the narrative. The emphasis is placed on the presentation of the collectivization at the micro-level of everyday life.
