Identification of the Competency Gap in Industrial Processing Enterprises

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of competency gap. At the beginning, the essence of competencies of enterprises was discussed, and then the phenomenon of competency gap was characterized. In addition, the results of empirical research were presented,the subject of which was the identification of factors affecting the creation of a competence gap in industrial processing enterprises. It should be emphasized that have been demonstrated a number of barriers and problems, which include, most of all, the lack of adequate material and non-material resources, the economic situation and the administrative activityof the country. The theoretical part was based on the analysis of Polish and English bibliography and the empirical part on the basis of surveys which were carried out on a sample of 162 entities representing manufacturing companies.
