Summary/Abstract: This study deals with the theories regarding the basis of civil liability. The contents of this paper are opinions expressed in the specialized literature on the theories that represent the basis of civil liability in general, theories that have been formed along the evolution of society, especially due to its development. Various factors such as social, economic, cultural, legal factors have led to permanent changes in the law on com¬pensation for damage.
