Summary/Abstract: The research investigates the structure of social representations of teachers working in regular schools regarding students with mental handicap. In this experimental investigation the Verges prototypiccategorial technique was used based on free association of words and expressions of representations starting with an inductive word formulated by the researcher. This research is especially important due to the fact that the observations of the characteristics of the teacher’s social representations of these students may contribute to the change and optimization of the educational interventions aimed at students with mental disabilities.
