The logic of polyphonic thinking in the perspective of music studies

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Research. The review of the main directions of research of general music logic was carried out, the specificity and prospects of researching the logic of polyphonic thinking were revealed. Methodology. The methodology of work combines comparative, structural-analytical, inductive and systemic approaches, which allow to cover a wide range of heterogeneous phenomena and simultaneously highlight the specificity of the subject. Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty consists in the fact that the author defines the logic of polyphonic thinking as an actual problem in the context of ancient and modern music. Conclusions. Comparing the general music logic with the logic of polyphonic thinking, we can say that the latter has not attracted great attention of scientists. So the initial necessary steps along this path include the following tasks: to create the appropriate practical scientific and analytical basis, as well as the further development of the theoretical fundamentals of the research.
