Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Research. The purpose of the article is to consider the functioning of the art of telecommunications as an important component of the artistic culture of the new millennium, a unique cultural phenomenon where the social functions of adaptation and the formation of individual and unique subjectivity of the creator-man are the most important. Methodology. The basis for the consideration of the problem was scientific works on the natural phenomenon of popular culture, integrally connected with the processes of transformation of mass media video content. The authors of them are L. Boyanova, L. Virilio, S. Hall, E. Ivakhnenko N. Luman and others; means of communication as factors of changes in the sphere of sensory culture are analyzed by O. Klekovkin, A. Olenina, Y. Strakovich; studies of the current state of media in the context of socio-cultural processes are highlighted by M. Brovka, T. Gumenyuk, N. Vladimirova. Scientific Novelty. It is proved that the new agents, which form the field of contemporary art culture, are also users of social networks. They create a «context» with new artifacts, deliberately mixing elements of high and mass culture, creating a new phenomenon – the popular culture. Conclusions. The article highlights the features of the discourse of the mass media: transculturality, integration, communication, dialogical nature, which presuppose and require from discursive practices the interconnectedness among them or the exclusion of such practices. The culturological discourse of mass media is «language in the language», which is impossible without communicative acts. Its context is an act of transgression.
