Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to determine the type of analytical data on finance family businesses take advantage of, to what degree and what methods they use. The research is of a quantitative nature, whereas the data was collected from interviews. The interviews with 32 entities were conducted in September 2014. The results clearly indicate that entrepreneurs in family-owned companies do not check regularly financial performances of their companies. Slightly over a half does it on regular basis. The area of investigation usually encompasses the level of company’s turnover and the financial result. The ratio analysis is practically not used in the examined population since only three entities use it.
