Summary/Abstract: Possession of capital is considered to be one of the key factors of success for many businesses. The article focuses on the role they play in financing development loans, and thus investment and current activity of small family businesses in the province of Lublin. Bank loans are presented as a traditional form of financing. Presents the evaluation of the use of external sources of financing on the basis of statistical information and surveys conducted among 79 family businesses. Requests were made on how to raise money to finance the development of family businesses.
