Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to reveal the genre-style specificity of the «opera-minute» «Nocturne» by N. V. Lysenko in line with the Ukrainian culture of the modern era. The methodology of the work is complex and based on the unification of the principles of musical intonation, cultural, historical-typological, art and aesthetic type of research allowing to determine the figurative and semantic and stylistic indicators of N. V. Lysenko’s «Nocturne» in the artistic area of the Ukrainian cultural and historical tradition beginning of the twentieth century. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the fact that the named work is considered for the first time in the context of the spiritual and style searches of the Ukrainian culture of the mentioned period. Conclusions. The poetics of the chamber opera «Nocturne» by N. V. Lysenko, created in 1912, is defined by the intersection in it of the style qualities of symbolism, Biedermeier, salon culture, revealed at various levels of the musical composition – from the plot-shaped sphere to concrete expressive techniques, indicative for the Ukrainian culture of the modern era.
