Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to study the performing style of Kvitka Cisyk (1953–1998) – American singer of Ukrainian origin. The stated area of focus is caused by the scientific strategy of studying the significant cultural phenomenon of the Ukrainian Diaspora as a component of the national musical tradition. The methodology is based on the source-study, complex and interpretive scientific approaches. The scientific novelty of results involves the first experience of analyzing Kvitka Cisyk’s performing style by the example of the song “Do you hear, my brother…” (“Cranes”), anthem of Ukrainian Diaspora. The interaction of different manners of performance (academic and authentic) was characterized. The article determines the essence of the singer’s performing talent (a wide range of the voice technical capabilities, the sophisticated manner of performance, rich internal culture). Conclusions. The study of the performing style of Kvitka Cisyk – a representative of Ukrainian Diaspora’s musical culture, who made a significant contribution into the development of Ukrainian national musical culture, illustrates the current state of the Ukrainian Music Diaspora Studies as a new trend in Art Criticism.
