Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article. The present research is linked with establishing the interrelation between art, ideology, and socio-cultural activity as the essence of Z. Haidai’s concert tour to Canada and the USA in 1946, at the beginning of the Cold War between the USSR and the West. The methodology of the research lies in applying the concrete-historical method to establish facts which caused the peculiarities and duration of that concert tour abroad, of the structural and functional method to study functioning of the Ukrainian classical vocal and performing art in the context of the Ukrainian cultural and artistic life, which was governed at that time by the official political ideology, and the general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, generalization etc.) for raising more profound points in the article conclusions. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it describes for the first time the details of organization of Z. Haidai’s abroad concert tour beyond the Atlantic Ocean, which took place under support of pro-communist political forces of the three countries. This affected the format of this abroad concert tour, as well as determined the direction of Z. Haidai’s activity filled with the ideological propaganda, which Z. Haidai had been performing within the Soviet delegation. Conclusions. The analysis of the peculiarities of Z. Haidai’s abroad concert tour to the main North American countries helped to find out its political and propagandist nature, which substantially decreased its artistic value of the singer’s creative career, however enriched her experience with new events, in particular, meeting with Ukrainian diaspora and various impressions.
