Creativity of «Jungleman»in the context of Ukrainian jazz development

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article. In the study, the creativity of the group «Jungleman» in the context of the development of modern Ukrainian jazz is examined. The methodology is based on the musical and analytical method, with the help of which the musical style of the popular acid jazz group «Jungleman» is characterized. Scientific novelty of the research is that for the first time in Ukrainian science the musical compositions of the jazz group «Jungleman» were examined through the prism of the style priorities of the music of the postmodern era. Conclusions. Acid jazz is the direction of modern musical art, functioning on the border of jazz and popular music. It is inherited from jazz an improvisational beginning, a specific jazz sound, from the popular music the simplification of the musical language, targeting a wide audience. The synthetic nature of acid jazz promotes experiments with various directions of popular and jazz music. The Ukrainian group «Jungleman» is distinguished by the breadth of the style range. In addition to the dominant acid jazz, the creativity of the collective includes works of an experimental nature, compositions with a priority electronic sound, works that focus on musical ethnicity and acoustic sound.
