Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article is an analysis of the composition "Elegy" J.Mertz as products German Biedermeier first half XIX centuries in differing directivity of style his performances. The Methods of the study. The Base of the work - intonation approach of the Asafjev school in Ukraine, with provision for output on similar style analysis and method of hermeneutics as in the case in works E.Markova, L.Smirnova and others. Scientific novelty consists in that perfect musicology analysis of the making the named author, avoided musicology attention in Ukraine in foreshortening relationship him with style type of Biedermeier; for the first time versions with the high artistic quality of the modern interpreters named composition are matched in performance T. Ivakura and D.Rousell. Conclusions. Actual in condition nеоsymbolism end XX - begin XXI century Biedermeier, chamber installation which has naturally included the guitar art, turned out to be claimed in the аcаdеmical artistic sphere of our days, has defined different national high in aesthetic sense approaches modern interpreter, in this case, this T.Ivakura and D.Roussell. Accordingly, for the first significant discharge of the chamber type of the music in spirit total, academic and popular, European instrumental art then D.Rоussell selects intimate waltz note typical of Biedermeier music as the person of the sort of the academic sphere.
