Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. The problems of the integrity of musical piece are considered in the article, factors which are instrumental in its appearing are probed. The actuality of this theme is based on the variety of artistic practice and the problem of its generalization, comprehension, by principles and methods of musicology. Concrete material for analysis is «Hyperprism» by Edgard Varese. The structure of work, facilities of the organization, which are instrumental in its integrity, is analyzed, regularities of a musical form formation are shown. The purpose of the work is to investigate the peculiarities of the integral organization of the work by Edgard Varese "Hyperprism" by traditional and modern approaches to analysis. The methodology: the method of musicological analysis for the study of Edgard Varèse's work, principles of holistic analysis of musical works, methods of deduction and induction, generalization, analogy. The scientific novelty іs in the chosen perspective of research and approaches that have not previously been used to analyze this work and other works of Varese in general. Conclusions: the composer organizes a musical composition by the specific constructive principles he has found, which are of a fixed nature and contribute to the artistic integrity of the work. The role of traditional elements іs in the latent connections between the work and the presence of historical "traces" in form-creation.
