Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the Article. The research is connected with the coverage of transformation processes in the genre of folk song processing on the example of the Kupala song "Oy, Dark Night Kupyolochka" in the processing for the male choir a cappella A. Jacobchuk and for the female choir a capella A. Gavrylets. Methodology of the study is to apply the method of holistic analysis. This methodological approach allows us to reveal the figurative and artistic content and the peculiarities of the stylistics of these works, to analyze the differences between the author's interpretation of the used folklore melody. Scientific Novelty of the work is to broaden the ideas of life and specific characteristics of the genre of choral processing in Ukrainian music at the present stage. The comparative analysis of the two treatments of the same folk song "Oh, Dark Night Kupyolochka" reveals in each case the peculiarity of the to A. Jacobchuk`s and A. Gavrylets`s approach in terms of forming and expressiveness in depicting the artistic imagery of this Kupala song. Conclusions. On the example of the treatments of the Kupala song "Oh, Dark Night Kupyolochka" by A. Jacobchuk and A. Gavrylets, we can observed transformational processes in the genre. They are manifested in the free approach of composers to the folk source – dynamization of the form, modes variety, work with the segments of the melody, timbre variety, colour effects.
