Summary/Abstract: A negative and harmful impact of petrol/filling station operation upon the environment in general is seen in air pollution by car exhaust gases and volatile hydrocarbons. The environment is subjected for pollution by another source of pollutants, i. e. by contamination of ground water with waste water of car washers containing petrochemical products, other pollutants, and surface active substances. The paper consits of 3 parts: survey, methodological and experimental. In order to evaluate extremely precisely the workload of the petrol/filling station and pollution level the number of services rendered to vehicles was calculated by the recordered data of the station till receipts. Based on that, the following content of pollutants was is computed: carbon monoxide (CO); hydrocarbons (CnHm); nitric oxide (NOx); sulphur dioxide (SO2); the volume of residual solid particles after petrol and diesel fuel combustion in the internal combustion engine
