Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the basic principles and rules of inheritance law in France. The basic characteristics of the determination of heirs and inheritance rules are discussed as well. The reader should get familiar with these rules, among other things, in comparison with the Roman law and the possibility of inspiration for the interpretation of new legislation.
