Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to comprehend the cultural essence of the practice-oriented approach in the field of tourism on the basis of foreign and domestic experience. The methodology of the research is based on the interdisciplinary culturological approach with the use of event analysis and comparative method, which makes it possible to compare and generalize the culturological experience of the training of tourism specialists. The scientific novelty is to identify new forms and methods of distinctive cultural-oriented practical training in the field of tourism by forming the skills and competencies required by time and comparing such experience with foreign developments. Conclusions. The culturological component of the practice-oriented approach is aimed at optimal inclusion in the professional cultural environment and modeling the substantive content of professional socio-cultural activities. Such an approach ensures the transformation of the training activities of the future specialist in the sphere of tourism into a real socio-cultural and professional (museum, exhibition, excursion, etc.) both locally and internationally, in order to create the actual professional cultural competence and skills relevant to the needs of modern tourism, and also contributes to the primary adaptation of future specialists to a dynamic professional environment. And this requires in-depth study of new methods and forms of a practically-oriented cultural approach in the field of tourism and its further implementation.
