Summary/Abstract: Slow movements are a response to the explosion of technological novelties and the contemporary pace of life. There are various ways to compensate for the intense mental effort and hours spent at the computer monitor – one of them is enotourism or wine tourism. Surrounded by nature, we can admire the scenery, learn about the process of wine production, local products and culture. In Portugal, and especially in the Alentejo region, wine production is one of the stronger sectors of the local economy, and enotourism offers, apart from wine promotion, the opportunity to advertise what is best in this country – beautiful views, sunny weather and hospitality of the inhabitants. All this gives people the opportunity to rest away from crowded cities.
