Summary/Abstract: In this article, we present some examples of actions taken by the Academy of Social Sciences in order to respond to the needs of the labour market in the IT area. In the first part of the paper the analysis of Polish labour market in the IT sector is presented, in the following sections to show what modern university does to respond to the needs of the labour market.
