Basic concepts and terms of blues music

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. Explore and define the basic concepts and terms of blues music. Methodology. The methodological basis of the study is a systematic approach. Scientific novelty. Because of the conducted research, for the first time in Ukrainian musicology, the basic concepts and terms of blues music have been singled out, described and concretized. Conclusions. Blues is a fundamental and capacious concept in non-academic music of the ХХ century. The blues are inherent at the same time features of a musical genre, musical style, and musical form. Also, based on the results of the study, the definitions of the following terms were clarified: blues form, blues scale, blues notes.
