Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyse the contemporary use of the lexeme narration based on the contextual material derived from Internet media texts. As a consequence, the meaning of narration present in the Polish media discourse is reconstructed. The extracted aspects of narration are as follows: subject, object and intention, often with pointing out a concrete purpose, such as manipulation of reality or history. Thus, particular narration is often accused of being false. Narration appears to be a notion and a linguistic construct, unstable and prone to changes, which is exposed by the addressees. Nowadays narration could also be perceived as a version of the truth or it might be identified with the truth.
