Summary/Abstract: The article aims to analyse the similarities and differences in the Italian and Romanian geopolitical devices, as set up around and during the events of World War I. The two European countries used the world conflagration to reach their political aims, nonetheless, the diplomatic factors also played an extremely important role. In a synthetic manner, this paper outlines these factors, as well as the events which influenced the political and diplomatic actions of Italy and Romania, amid ample mutations generated by this genuine continental ‘glaciation’ that Europe had to endure in the years 1914-1918.
