Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the article. Find out specific of the museum as the medium. Methodology. M. McLuhan’s theory (medium is a message) and K. Popper’s theory of three worlds. Scientific novelty. The museum, in distinct of other media, can integrate all K. Popper’s three worlds. Conclusions. Internet and modern media technologies extend the capacity of customary museum communication. In the same time, it doesn’t mean, that museum is archaic medium, and this institution cannot operate without «crutches» of new media. It’s too soon to affirm, that museum completely dissolves in WWW. The Internet can absorb the world of communication (second Popper’s world) and objectivated results of cognition (third Popper’s world). The Internet is influential for the physical world (first Popper’s world), but it always only a mediation of the world of things. That’s why the museum is non-alternative media in the field of integration K. Popper’s three worlds. This capacity is museum-specific as the medium.
