The comparison of the classical and positional taxonomic analysis of the quality of life differentiation in Zachodniopomorskie voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is the comparison of the efficiency of two approaches in the construction of the development measure using classical and positional Weber’s median vector in the research of the objective quality of life in Zachodniopomorskie voivodeship. In the analysis the indicators of the following were used: environment, demography, labor market, municipal infrastructure and flats, education, culture and tourism, health, road transport, incomes and expenses of the budget of local government unit. The analysis involved the year 2008. The classical approach gave the better results in terms of homogeneity, heterogeneity and correctness of clustering.
