Summary/Abstract: In small area statistics there are many indirect estimators, for which there is a problem of selection criteria and evaluation of the estimation results. One of more promising solutions is created by local labour market statistics. The Polish Labour Force Survey (BAEL) is a systematic, repeatable and includes all households. It can be integrated with population statistics and administrative records, so we have a relatively solid base of auxiliary variables. Estimating all the elements of the labour market and summing the corresponding realizations of the estimators we compared them to population and assessed their accuracy. As a result of this comparison EB estimator was a little better. Indirect estimators were also characterized by a smaller mean square errors.
