Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the possibility of developing certain generic competencies at tertiary level such as: the capacity for analysis and synthesis, the capacity for applying knowledge in practice, basic general knowledge in the field of study, information management skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to work autonomously, elementary computer skills and research skills by courses that develop another generic competence- Language for Specific Purposes, or more particularly ESP courses.
