Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to elucidate a battery of text-based analytical expedients from a preponderantly cognitive standpoint. It is primarily theoretical in nature and underpinned through a descriptive portrayal of the dominant discursive phenomena in the years 2009 and 2010. The weight is attached to a selected batch of parsing apparatuses used in Cognitive Linguistics, Critical Discourse Analysis and Systemic-Functional Grammar. The centrality of meaning is the loadstar navigating this small-scale survey as well as the entirety of constructive and deconstructive mechanisms in both Cognitive Linguistics and lexically-geared subdomains of science in general.
