Literary Cafes in Łódź in the Second Half of the 20th Century

Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to reconstruct a fragment of the history of literary Łódź on thebasis of previously forgotten literary texts, memories, anecdotes or scattered press notes.The meeting places for writers just after 1945 were cafes located in Śródmieście, includingHonoratka, Fraszka, Pickwick Club. In their interiors, there were meetings of poets, literarydebuts, and thundering verbal fencing of intellectuals gathered around a coffee table.
