Summary/Abstract: This text addresses some important questions of modern times, such as the role of education today, the teacher’s part in this process, and points out the need for returning to a sharper awareness of our traditions and history. It also highlights some relevant aspects about the Romanian spirit and language. Moreover, it approaches the topic of nationalism in an era of globalisation, pleading for reaching equality among world citizens and universality of human spirit through means of education.
