Summary/Abstract: The article reviews the changes in the Reward System of the employees in the Bulgarian Public Administration, which have been in force since the beginning of 2019. The theoretical basis embodied in the article is the concept of Total Reward, which includes monetary rewards (basic salaries, additional payments, damages and benefits) and non-monetary remuneration (recognition of contributions, relationships and opportunities). The article presents the structure of the reward system for the employees in the Bulgarian Public Administration, its positive characteristics as well as its weaknesses at the end of 2018 are outlined. The most significant changes to the reward system since the beginning of 2019 - the scale of basic salaries for positions, the regulation on the determination and modification of individual basic salaries, as well as the additional remuneration, are presented. The positive features of changes in the remuneration system, as well as the non-monetary rewards of employees in the administration, are outlined. The final part of the article outlines some problematic areas related to the reward system that remain after the changes from the beginning of 2019 as well as recommendations for their overcoming.
